Typed-Up, Hyped-up Thursday

Good morning people!
I feel like I have not blogged in a long time. Chimi is hard at work today, on her final paper before her summer break! I know there will be some rejoicing to come after she turns it in today! She has turned her IPhone off (can u say dedicated) to be completely focused on her work. I admire her strengths and ability to work under pressure!
Anyhow, its almost the weekend (which I will welcome with open arms)! I look forward to doin nothing but relaxin! Last weekend was rainy and sunny. I hope for just sunny this weekend. :)

Miami Weekend (Recap)

Good Mornin Folks!
Lemme just start the recap I promised you all! So this past weekend, from April 7th-April 10th, Chimi, myself, and 5 of our Trinity Ladies (our good friends) enjoyed the Miami weather, food, drinks, and view! I had my first plane ride, which wasn't so bad.
After checking in at The Chesterfield Hotel (which was pretty decent), we started our Miami vacay by goin to the beach and takin in the sun and beautiful salt water. We asked Juan, (or Juanito, which Chimi affectionately called him, a sexy Colombian to take a group picture of us. We also managed to see Tyson Beckford on the beach working out!
After enjoyin our beach time, we ventured off to find food. Needless to say, in South Beach, food, club promoters, and drinks find you! We stopped at a place called Primetime, which had 2 for 1 drinks and $4.95 appetizers. The host, who was dressed to the nines, eagerly arranged a table for 7. We sat, we ordered drinks and food, and we enjoyed ourselves. We even ran into Juanito again, who decided to sit with us and hang out. The drinks were big, the appetizers, not so much, but we all got enough to eat and drink that night.
We arrived back to the hotel after dinner, and while Chimi and some of the other ladies got ready to go out, I crashed and didnt wake up til the next morning. On this day, we got up early for more beach time. While some went bike riding, me and a couple friends opted for more of the beach scene. I frolicked in the water and rested up (earnin myself a nice tan). Chimi and our friend Claudia went jet-skiing, which was a great sight to take in.
After havin fun in the sun, we made our way back to the hotel to change and get dinner. We wandered the South Beach streets, taking in souped up cars, tourists, and stores. We went to a nightclub called Cameo, thereby bringing in Chimi & Claudia's birthday(s). The next morning, we got up early and got ready to go snorkeling. Some of us experienced the "whole new world" underwater, while others (myself included) tried to maintain calm and not throw up from motion sickness. The view was gorgeous, the sun fried us, and we enjoyed being on the Green Boat!
When we arrived back, we went to get dinner at a place called Medi's. We savored our dishes and drinks (including 2 birthday shots for our ladies). Afterward, some went to check out tattoo shops, while the rest of us walked the streets, headed for Wet Willies. We all eventually ended up at a tattoo shop, where one of our friends decided to get inked.
It was a long while before she was done, but we all got home after 1am. The guy that followed us to the tattoo shop was a drunken mess, and the shop owner allowed this drunken mess to come and bother the patrons with his rudeness (another reason I refuse to cheat on my artist). Then, we had female eye candy... boobs and butt spillin out, this woman was very bubble-gum-ish. So this particular evening, I observed a drunk, a bimbo, and a shakin dog whose nipples were disgustin lookin, yet people still thought she was a cute pup.
The next morning, we checked out of The Chesterfield, then split up to enjoy our last few hours in Miami. Some went back to the beach and then got breakfast, while a group of us when to get sushi (which was really tasty). From this sushi restaurant, I savored a banana tempura dessert (which was scrumptious). After eating at the sushi restaurant, Chimi and I walked the streets a bit more, taken in a part we missed*, then headed back to the hotel to catch the shuttle back to the airport for our flight.
We left Miami and arrived back in DC after 7:30 on Sunday evening. After giving hugs and parting ways, Chimi, Ky'Osha (our friend), and I went to drop our luggage off at home. Then, it was off to Sticky Rice where more sushi was consumed (I love Sticky Rice's Sticky Balls). After listening to a heartbroken female cry and scream at someone (on another person's cell phone), the bus came and we went home.
In conclusion, our vacay was nice, most, if not all of us, have come back with a different skin tone (my brother said I look like a burnt cupcake), and we came back safely. This weekend was pretty damn good!

Kelly Rowland feat. Lil' Wayne- Motivation

Kelly Rowland - Motivation by UniversalMusicGroup

I am so in a lack of the said word. Returning back from paradise has done something to me mentally. I need to prepare and get things together.LOL This song is Carly's notification tone and it's haunting so I had to post the video. I heard this video was sexy and I'm a little amped just looking at the half-naked men. Oh, to be in MIA again.

Miami Made Me Motivated

Greetings all!
I am elated/relieved/grateful that I have finally made my way on a plane... to Miami! I am happy that I stepped out of jacket of fear and (soon enough) into a dress of relief and fun! I am surrounded by friends who I love and I can honestly say that God has never left my side! This trip just motivated me to want more and set more goals for me to accomplish. I have 1 airplane ride under my belt, thereby, I have accomplished yet 1 more thing! So proud of myself!

Soooo, I am ready to see what Miami has to offer. Be on the lookout for our Weekend Recap (comin soon)!

So it begins...

Today is the day I have been waiting for for months. Miami is finally a reality and so is the fact that I am turning a year older. Sometimes I sit and think about what it was like some years ago when I was in High School and not having all the responsibilities that I have now. Getting older just makes me think about planning and making sure I accomplish all that I set my mind to do. I have been planning mini getaways just so I can gain perspective.
Hopefully Miami, will open my eyes to the endless possibilities that lie ahead.

Weekend Recap

Man so what can I say about this weekend.... It was mediocre. Carly was not around at all. As soon as I got in the house on Friday, Carly was on her way out the door. For the both of us it was a weekend for laundry. I had to have two sessions at the Laundromat. That's how much clothes I have which is a damn shame. I found past outfits that I posted on this blog from Valentine's Day. I really have an issue when it comes to throwing out clothes because you never know when it will come back in style. LOL I did get rid of some clothes however and put duplicates of clothes in my storage on my back porch.

Saturday, was interesting to say the least. I went on a date with a guy friend. We went to H Street Country Club. We mini-golfed for 4 games and then played skeeball which I am a beast at. All the skeeball games we played I won. After his ass beating we tried to go to Sticky Rice a favorite but the wait time was for 2 hrs. We got out of dodge and went to a new restaurant named Khan's on H Street. Carly and I definitely will have to do a review of that restaurant. So after the restaurant we took a walk and I went home.

Sunday was a drag. The second session of laundry and cooking. I cooked some Jerk Chicken, red beans and rice, and cabbage. The chicken was bomb. It was moist and full of flavor. I don't know much about the rest of the food but from the way Carly scrapped her plate I'm assuming it was good. We ended the night listening to loud music because we were on get back from our loud ASS neighbors. Overall, the weekend was a dud. LOL

Ummm Girl!!!

Ok so big shout out to Shia, Ashanti's little sister for being an Aries for one and for being a BAD Bitch. When I say Bad Bitch I don't mean that in a mean way. I was recently on Necole Bitchie doing my regular blog reading and came across this picture of Shia in a tight dress with her back out. To my surprise, Shia is not as small as she looks when you see an upfront picture. I saw a few rolls coming out her dress and was thinking how that couldn't be me. I'm not hating on Shia at all. I just think self confidence can get you places. As long as you are comfortable in your own skin there is nothing people can tell you. She looked like she had a great time and showed her rolls with pride. I guess I need to take some pointers on self confidence and not being so fixed on what others may think about how I feel about myself. I'm often asked for my opinion and I can't ever come up with an answer. I guess I am afraid of being ridiculed, or judged. As a woman, I know for a fact that there have been times I saw someone with confidence and all I could do was hate. Hate on her because her attitude or her confidence was off the Richter scale in comparison to my mediocre shell of confidence. So Big UPs to Shia for not being a size 0 and presenting her confidence as "What you see is what you get!"

Outfit of the Day

Outfit of the Day
Outfit of the Day by chimire featuring lace up shoes
This is the closest I've gotten to taking a picture. I forgot my camera and I forgot the charger to my Iphone just in case I wanted to post photos. I instead made a more expensive representation of what I wore today for DC's 70+ weather. The gams are definitely out today. Tattoos are all glistening LOL. I'll try to take a picture of my actual outfit to post it.

Mercury in Retrograde: F* U!!!

[source]

So April Fool's to everyone. What a day I have had. First let me say that I have had an extreme miscommunication today and just figured out what it was. In a very recent visit with Kimbers she told me that Mercury is in retrograde. So exactly what does that mean? In the words of Kimbers it means that Mercury is not going its normal course. Instead its taking opposite turns and twists. This in itself is making my world a little difficult. Mercury is the planet that rules communication so because it wanna do its own thing, my relationships with people are turning sour. I found that during Mercury's retrograde it is not recommended to try to make changes in your life, for instance starting a new job. Last week when retrograde was during its prepubescent stage, I had a phone interview for a position I sought. After the interview, I could tell I wasn't going to get a call back. Prior to the interview, the interviewer told me that my interview would last up to 30 minutes. Mine was only a premature 9 minutes. That shit really sucks. So as it stands all the retrograde periods of the year are all during the fiery signs. The current retrograde that we are in started March 30th and ends April 23rd. This a long time for me to not effectively communicate. So being a Fiesty Aries, this is not a great time for me right now. Reading the report on retrograde makes me want to check myself not just because of the happenings of the day but because of the constant overwhelming feelings I have been having. I always tell myself I might need anger management. I should give that a try.

Why I Love Him So!

I am never disappointed when it comes to Tank! I loved watchin this video. I don't listen to this song as much when I listen to the CD (mostly because I be stuck on my 2 faves Foreplay and Can I), but I have definitely grown to appreciate this song. I love live performances, which to me shows that a person has raw talent, not wearin that mask that grins and lies (i.e., autotune). I enjoyed this and you should too!
