Crack-a-lack-in

First Attempt of Crackle Nails

I am so excited about the turn-out of the crackle nail polish so I had to make a post. My crackle nail polish came in the mail yesterday and I couldn't wait to get home to try it out. Needless to say that it is not the OPI Black Shatter that I obsessed over but it works all the same. The name of company that makes this polish is Mia Secret.  It is a cosmetics company located in California. I found Mia on Amazon for under $6.

The first thing to do before adding the crackle to your nails is to pick colors that you want to be your base. For my left hand, I chose Brucci's Joi's Lullaby and for my right, I used an assortment of bright colors from L.A. Flare.

Paint the nails with at least two coats so that the color can be bright. Once that is dry, use one coat of the crackle nail polish. The nail polish dry fast and you will quickly see the cracks form and the color coming through.

As a finished product, use a top coat so that the crackle can stay. I did not do this and today the crackle I did is coming off my fingers.

Carly had a question and wanted to know what the crackle did on a bare nail. I tried it out on my pinky above and you can clearly see what happened. Shit!! I just had an ashy pinky nail.  I hope you guys go out and get crackle crazy. I think I will be doing this for parties and what not just so I could show others out in the nail department.
