The Madness of the Day

Waking up early after having a couple of drinks is not exactly what I wanted to do this morning but I had my mind set on a necklace I saw at the Thrift Store a couple weeks back. Carly just like any other Sunday was ready to leave the house for work when I asked her to wait for me. About twenty minutes later I was dressed and we were off to the train station. Needless to say our walking was very slow because Carly had on her "Walking on the Moon" boots aka her "Chuckie" snow boots that weighed down on her feet. As we were trying to cross a very tricky intersection we witnessed a guy get HIT by a car and jump on a bus he was about to miss. While I was holding my face and screaming profanities, Carly made a joke about what if the police had asked up what we witnessed?

It's only funny because last night we were stuck watching a marathon of The First 48. This show is a little too much for me but it reminds me of the college dorm when we first got cable (mind you it was 2009) and would sit there watching this show. We watched as people were being interrogated and try to be hard asses with the police but would eventually break down. So we pondered....

Police: "Do you know why you are here?"
Chimi and Carly: (in unison) "No, we do not"

Police: "Your names were mentioned as witnesses for a man getting hit by a car today"

Chimi:"We weren't even out today"

Carly: "We were at home"
Police: "It seems to me that you  are not telling the truth. If you are not cooperative with me then I cannot cooperate with you"
(Chimi starts to cry uncontrollably. Snot rushes from her nose. Carly shakes her head and sighs)
Carly: "OK, yes we witnessed a man getting hit by a car"
(Chimi is still crying)
Police: "Can you tell me what happened?"

Carly: "We were crossing the street and a man was getting off the bus. He looked across the street and saw the X2 coming. He ran behind the bus he got off and was hit in the legs by a white Cadillac. The car stopped but the man ran to catch the bus."

Police: "Is that all you know?"

Carly: "Yes"

Police: "You are free to go"
