A Whapping 37

[source]

Good Afternoon. I recently had a chance to reflect on some of my habits that I need to fix. On Thursday, I had a PD on Effective Listening and had to take an assessment. On the self assessment of my success, I received a grade of 37. When looking at this number it is solely a grade but the words that came with the grade is what stood out. It told me that I needed to set goals for myself in order to be successful. I had to try to set limits for my goals and always reach for goals that are tangible or that I can touch. In my way of reflecting on this, I decided to try to see what it would be like to set a goal for today and actually complete it.

This morning when I woke up I told myself that I wanted to create a cover letter, look over my resume and apply for some jobs. When I got to the library the first thing I did was look at my resume and add updates. I then went on to my cover letter. It needed a lot of work considering that it made no sense for what I was applying for. I looked up several resources, googled cover letters and came across OWL Purdue. I used them first and found myself stressed about how to start my cover letter. I read each article they had and was determined to give up and try to go on to the next activity but I had to remember that I had a goal set in place. I continued to go forth with correcting my cover letter mixing and matching from different sources, going to the organization's website and reading their mission statements and incorporating that into a cover letter that I proud to give to potential employers. It took me about 3 hours to get it together. Hopefully now that I am trying to reach my tangible goals it can be a breeze applying to other jobs.
